Introduction

Objectives

  • Discuss network basics and its importance.
  • Understand the concept of layering and models.
  • Understand the OSI model and TCP/IP model and its importance.
  • Learn the details of OSI model and its layers such as (Application & session)
  • Discuss each layer one by one and its function and which can be used.
  • Understand the cables and its types and connectors and what it belongs to.
  • Understand the MAC addressing and Ethernet technologies, Ethernet frame.
  • Apply LAN Switch basic operation.
  • Understand layer 3 (Network layer) and it functionality and its devices and the operations in it
  • Discuss and execute the IP addressing, IP classes, Public /Private addressing, and IP packet header.
  • Define the concepts of Submitting, Internet layer protocol.
  • Solve problems on submitting and classes IP.
  • Apply the following protocols (DHCP, DNS, ARP, TCP, and UDP).
